"These handcrafted pens incorporate the actual wood from the Shawshank tree made famous in the movie - ""Shawshank Redemption"" starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The iconic tree  featured in the 1994 motion picture was a white oak located near Malabar Farm State Park in Lucas, Ohio. The tree was at least 100 feet tall  and approximately 180 to 200 years old. The tree played a central role in the film's plot and was one of the most popular tourist sites connected to it.  The tree was split by lightning on July 29, 2011, and eventually was knocked down by strong winds on or around July 22, 2016. The pen comes with a Certificate Of Authenticy sign by both Mark and the tree owner."
